    President Harry Truman signed an executive order desegregating the military in 1947. The Korean War was the first time that the order was put into effect on a large scale basis. These men from the 2nd Infantry's 23rd Regiment just came back from a night time patrol.

    Two GI's looking at a recoilless rifle. They were originally developed as anti-tank weapons in WW 2, but were obsolete for that purpose in the Korean War. They were very effective at taking out machine gun emplacements and light bunkers.
